A Viscosity-Modifying Admixture for High-Performance Shotcrete

E5® Shot Cure is a viscosity-modifying, internally curing Nano Silica admixture engineered for shotcrete applications requiring density and strength. It controls evaporation to increase cement hydration, tightens cohesion in high-flow mixes, and helps prevent segregation and bleeding—keeping the surface workable and finishable longer while meeting ASTM C494/C494M Type S performance requirements.

Technical Data & Application

E5® Shot Cure is highly effective on its own or in combination with other E5 admixtures. If using multiple admixtures, it is critical to add each one individually to the concrete mix to ensure the fullest efficacy.

Technical Specifications

Dosage

The recommended dosage for all concrete applications is 6-12 fl. oz. per 100 lbs. (0.52-2.61 L/100 kg) of cementitious material. 

Mixing
For best results, E5® Shot Cure should be introduced in the concrete mixer at the ready-mix location and mixed for approximately 70 revolutions.

Packaging

Available in pails (5 gallons), drums (55 gallons), and totes (275 gallons).

Storage

The product has a shelf life of 18 months in its original unopened container. It should be stored in a well-ventilated, cool, and dry location between 40°F and 130°F (4°C and 54°C). It is extremely important to protect it from freezing, direct sunlight, and UV exposure.
